It all started as a joke during a BBQ in The backyard of agent Angara. Agents Angara and Fietspomp were talking about fielding in The Netherlands. They wanted a new adventure which must be bigger And better as they did in The past. On top of that they wanted an adventure with some experienced dutch fielders they less or never worked with before. First they contacted agent Katth. Katth was definitely in and came up with an awesome set of anchors on a mountain in Steinfurt, just across the German border. Angara came up with a set of anchors at Ameland, an Island above the Netherlands. With those Two sets of anchors Fietspomp went to the drawing table. After some puzzling he came with a third set of anchors in Knokke (Belgium). The result: a 17-layer plan to cover almost 65% of the Netherlands. It looked Great and doable but it didn’t satisfy them at all. So Fietspomp went back to the drawing table And came up with a fourth set of anchors near Maastricht to create another 17 layers to the other side. This would almost totally cover the Netherlands and some parts of Belgium And Germany as a bonus.
After a short conversation they all agreed: This plan must be executed! So OP: DoubleDutchTrouble was born.
With only 3 man This would be a hell of a Job. So they contacted some agents who could help them to make OP:DDT a succes. Agent Akitainu immediatly offered his help And agent Zilverdauw did the same. With those experienced people together things went fast. We needed some Belgian and German assistance which we found in agents IGuruMadMatI, MrDries and Micky. We picked an unusual date and after that, The Keys were farmed And exchanged in a blink of an eye. Time to organise our cleaners And make it happen the 29th of April.
29th of April
This is the day we’ve all been waiting for. Many things happened in the last weeks before the 29th of April. Mainly because Niantic announced the Aegis Nova Anomaly will be held in Rotterdam the 28th of May. So after some hectic weeks agents Angara and Daanb went, straight out of work, on a well deserved holiday to Ameland. Agents Fietspomp en Bandenplaksetje had a weekend holiday in Knokke, Belgium. Agents Katth And Aore went hiking on the mountain in Steinfurt. Agent Akitainu controlled the northsea just like normal business and Agent Zilverdauw had a homegame near the concrete factory in Maastricht. MrDries and IGuruMadMatI were in control of Belgium And Micky just did his thing in Germany like always.
Around 21:00 everybody was in place, determined and confident to make OP: DDT a succes. So let’s make things happen.
After these words a real whirlwind of smurfs went through some parts of the Netherlands and our lines for the northern fields were free of links in a blink of an eye. It was some awesome cleaning and even some corridor links appeared on Intel. We had a little delay in Belgium and Germany so we waited some minutes to create the Northern fields. After we’ve spotted some ENL action around the dutch coast we decided not to wait anymore and Agent Fietspomp created the first Northern Field worth 5+mln Mu. In the same minute the 5 agents along him created 6 more layers. Next up was Team Angara from Ameland while agent Fietspomp went on to the next portal in Knokke by bike. Team Angara crossed around the island with some locals to create 7 more layers from Ameland. Agent Fietspomp was now able to complete the northern fields by creating 4 more layers and joined Team Knokke South who were still waiting and hoping to create their southern fields. After a couple of minutes the last blockers went down and Zorglubxx finally could shoot the baselink from Knokke to the guarded concrete factory in Maastricht. Team Steinfurt leader Katth made his team link 7 southern fields in a couple of minutes. Team Zorglubxx flipped their portal and made also 7 layers to the South. Now it was up to Team Maastricht to complete the southern fields.
But team Maastricht was having some unwanted ENL company at that time. Also ENL showed up at our anchors at Ameland and in Steinfurt.
It was clear to all of us: We were unable to continue the last part of our operation so we had to stop at this point and went back home after a great adventure.
We made 10 Northern Fields pass the 22 hour Checkpoint worth 50+mln Mu.
At highest we had 17 Northern fields and 7 Southern fields UP for a total of 105+mln Mu.
Timelapse OP: DoubleDutchTrouble:
On their way back to the car agents ELawrence and Zorglubxx created a 1 mln+ Mermaid Unit field to Farne. This was our last breath for this evening.
We are proud of every involved agent, without each other we couldn't make Op: DDT the succes it was.
So a very big thank to all involved agents,
We’re looking forward to the next one.
